A Few Fall Favs

Greetings everyone,

Although living in Savannah is diminishing the excitement of fall at the moment, I’m still excited about the crisp cool weather to come. I love the richness of the colors and the fact that I’m not sweating the minute I go outdoors. My style is still pretty classic during any season but I decided to share with you a few subtle ways I embrace the season.

Hats and Scarves

I have short hair so I rarely gravitate towards covering my head but I’m intrigued by this floppy hat trend. I love how it adds just the right amount of drama. This scarf is huge and can even double as a throw. It comes in handy for those cool days when you just want to cover up but not wear a jacket. (Hat - Amazon, Scarf - H&M)

Fall Colors & Scents

Lip Color

A few of my favorite deep rich and rusty tones are Loreal Infallible Pro Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade 856, NYX soft matte lip cream in the shade Copenhagen, and MAC lipstick in the shade “O”.

Nail Color

It’s easy to jump into the season with those deep dark nail colors but what I’ve found is that although I enjoy them very much, the moment they chip or your nails grow, you see the flaws immediately. I don’t know about you but I sure can’t fund getting nails done every week. So to help ease my pockets, I opt for more neutral but season appropriate colors that allow you to have nail flaws and still be fabulous. Two that come to mind are from p2 Techno Chrome in the shades 030 Bronze Cut and 040 Gilded Gold.

Fragrance

One of the hardest things for me is to find a perfume that doesn’t give me a headache so I really have to search high and low for the perfect fragrance that smells good and is easy on my nose. I can tell in less than five minutes if a fragrance will work or not. So once I find one I usually stick with it. This year instead of using my normal go-to perfumes, I tested more fall friendly fragrances. I’m not a huge fan of vanilla type notes but I have to admit I have been pleased with the two I’ve found. Clinique’s My Happy in Cocoa & Cashmere and Philosophy’s Fresh Cream in Warm Cashmere.

Shoes

Now I could write a whole blog post on shoes ALONE but I decided to showcase one pair that adds just the right amount of fall punch without going overboard. At work I'm normally in some sort of heel but on the weekends, flats are my jam! These leopard flats from Walmart are adorable. In the past I’ve purchased the rounded toe leopard flats but I have to admit, this year’s pointed toe version is so much more flattering on me.

There you have it! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did and feel inspired to try some of these things out for yourself.

Until next time,

-K
